School for Monsters - first chapter

There´s a school for monsters. Monsters like me. Being a monster can be fun but it´s also lonely. There are rules banning contact with human. It´s the first thing monsters learn. Now, some of you might be wondering what I look like. Well I have black and purple hair. I also have black wings and red horns. A Dark Angel most people call me. My best friend, Erik, calls me Baddie. Erik just so happens to be a human. We met 2 years ago, so I was probably was in sixth grade. It was 2 months into the school year and I was in 4th period, which was monster History. I probably wasn´t paying attention. Because, my teacher Mr. Horns, called my name. " Maddie Stones, tell me, when was our Dark Age?" I sat silently then answered, " Um, 1504 through 1594." Mr. Horns said, " Wrong Ms. Stone, it was from 1578-1665." Then Finn Fletcher just had to blurt out, " Ha ha , you got it wrong." That comment made me so mad. I felt my eyes twitching and glowing red. It happens every time I get mad. Sometimes when I get really mad, a black staff I own appears. The staff holds powerful black magic so I have to be careful. I also have powerful hand magic. But I didn´t get so mad my staff appeared. Instead, I yelled loudly to him, " Oh, shut up!" " Do you want to be sent to the front office Maddie?" Mr. Horns asked. I shook my head embarrassed. But, what else should I have said. I´m a Dark Angel. That´s what we´re suppose to do. Now, Dark Angels aren´t as mean as stories make us out to be but we are mean, but we are usually nice. "Finn Fletcher, do you want to be sent to the front office?" Mr. Horns asked. Finn shook his head.
Everybody became quiet, and Mr. Horns continued his
lecture. A couple minutes later, everybody was handed a worksheet, but I couldn’t focus on it. My mind just kept
wandering and wandering into space. Mr. Horns came up to me, and asked, “are
you okay Maddie?” I replied, “ yes, I’m fine.” “ Are you sure,” Mr. Horns
asked. I lift my head, looked straight at Mr. Horns, and said, “I’m sure,” He
sighed and walked away.
